SUMMARY:Historical Foundations of Play Therapy
DESCRIPTION:Description: \nThis workshop is a foundational beginning for t
 hose new to play therapy or interested in becoming a play therapist.  This
  training is designed to provide basic understanding of play therapy as an 
 appropriate mental health intervention with children. This training will in
 clude major approaches\, stages in play therapy process and the role and re
 sponsibility of the therapist. Come and learn the historical origins and co
 ntributions of the giants in the field and the early use of play therapy. P
 lay therapy techniques in this training will be both presented and practice
 d!\nObjectives\n\nParticipants will identify the history and development of
  Play Therapy\nParticipants will understand the key contributors to Play Th
 erapy\nParticipants will describe the origins of the seminal theories of Pl
 ay Therapy (Adlerian\, child-centered\, cognitive-behavioral\, developmenta
 l\, ecosystemic\, filial\, gestalt\, Jungian\, object relations\, and Thera
 play)\nParticipants identify how each theory conceptualizes psychopathology
  and dysfunction\, treatment goals and progress\nParticipants will demonstr
 ate at least two interventions for each seminal theory\nParticipants will e
 xplain the importance of the Association for Play Therapy in its developmen
 t and awareness of Play Therapy\, and the importance of the RPT™ credenti
 al.\n\nAll trainings require at least a Master’s Degree in a Counseling\,
  Marriage and Family Therapy\, Social Work or related field\, and completio
 n of EMDR Basic Training (for EMDRIA Approved Advanced Workshops).  Gradua
 te Students may enroll in the training\, and understand that continued educ
 ation credit cannot be provided to individuals who do not hold proper crede

 available to licensed mental health professionals and graduate students in 
 a mental health program. \nThriveBright Professional Trainings only assume
 s the responsibility for the registration part of the event.  All other co
 sts are the responsibility of the registrant\, unless otherwise stated.\nTh
 is workshop and presenter have no conflict of interest in this workshop\, n
 or is there any commercial or financial support\, or any affiliate agreemen
 ts.\nAttendees must attend the training in its entirety\, with camera on (f
 or live webinar attendance)\, complete the training evaluation and a post-t
 est (for live webinar attendance) to be eligible for the CE Certificate. Ce
 rtificates of attendance will be emailed within 7 business days of the comp
 letion of the training and receipt of the evaluation and a passing score on
  the post-test (80% or higher)\, if applicable.\nWorkshop Cancellation and 
 Refund Policy\nNon-Refundable Fees:  $40.00 Administrative Fee is included
  in your registration fee for each event.\nCancellation requests must be ma
 de in writing\, and postmarked (or emailed) no later than seven (7) days pr
 ior to the date of the event. \nCancellations received at least seven days
  prior to the event will receive a refund\, less the $40.00 administrative 
 fee.  Cancellations received within seven days\, no shows\, or requests af
 ter the event will not receive a refund or credit toward future events.  
 \nThriveBright Professional Trainings receives the right to cancel any trai
 ning\, workshops or courses that receive fewer than five (5) registrants wi
 thin two weeks of the scheduled event and may be rescheduled to a later dat
 e.  Those who are registered will be notified of the cancellation and resc
 heduling in a timely manner and will be offered either a refund or a credit
  toward a future training\, workshop or course.  If ThriveBright Professio
 nal Trainings cancels the training\, workshop or course for any other reaso
 n\, you will receive a full refund\, or credit toward a future event (inclu
 ding administrative fee).\nNo partial credit will be given for any training
 \, workshop or course.  You must attend the event in its entirety to recei
 ve continued education credits.  For live webinars\, you must have your ca
 mera on at all times to receive credit for attendance.  \nNo exceptions w
