When working with clients in Play Therapy, we often need to collaborate with the child’s teachers and school counselors. Our role in supporting the classroom environment, as an integral part of the child’s systems, is to help teachers learn foundational skills in facilitating prosocial behaviors, problem solving and academic learning for their students, our clients, even when burnout is occurring.  Join us for this playful training to engage teachers in the Play Therapy process and promote resiliency and foster academic learning.

Objectives

  1. Participants will identify key components of the child-teacher relationship in the Play Therapy process that facilitates learning
  2. Participants will demonstrate two key strategies of collaboration with teachers to support Play Therapy clients
  3. Participants will demonstrate at least two Play Therapy strategies to promote connection in the teacher-child relationship
