Play Therapy Basics – Grow through the phases (limited to 10 supervisees)
For the child and teen therapists that are in a Play Therapy training program and integrating new knowledge into their practice through all three phases. Professional development as a Play Therapist is aligned with the Association for Play Therapy Competencies for optimal professional growth. This one hour group is open, and you may attend as your schedule allows.
Family Systems Focused Group (limited to 10 supervisees)
For any child and teen therapist, or Play Therapist, who focuses on treating the whole family. In this focused group, conceptualization and planned interventions are focused on not only helping the child through play therapy, but also providing insight and coaching for the parents, from an attachment lens. Theraplay(c), Filial and Child-Parent Play Therapy are explored as elements of the treatment plan, in addition to the individual Play Therapy sessions. This one hour group is open, and you may attend as your schedule allows.
During group supervision sessions, our Registered Play Therapist Supervisors expect that each attendee presents a case 10-15 minutes long, or discussion item related to theory, best practice or other need specific to Play Therapy. You will be provided a case conceptualization google form link to fill out before each group. Your RPT-Sâ„¢ will provide discussion opportunities as the group reviews your play therapy case needs, discuss ethical considerations, and explore different treatment techniques and approaches applicable to help you with your Play Therapy case.
